Ok now its time for my English review about Berlin marathon. To start with the race was a bit dissapointment to me. There might be many reasons but doing 3.20 pace was not just so relaxed as it should be from the very beginning. In fact my heart rate was 180 during the first 5km and I could feel some tension in my shoulders too. Reason might be some computer work on Thursday when I did results for some 700 athletes at a race organized by my club JKU. That could be and excuse though to explain why my speed started to slow down dramatically after 25km. Half a point I passed 1.09.36 which was something I aimed for. At that point I was quite confident and was running with leading Ethiopian female runner. After Half way turn things started to happen. The ones who did below 2.20 broke away and I decided to hang on to them. Few kilometres later I could feel my legs running out of strength and very soon winner Mikitenko and Erik passed by me. I was by myself eating pollution of motorbikes and cars who followed Mikitenko. There was 17km to go and I was a bit frustrated. Pace slowed from 3.20 to 3.30 but I was happy that it did not drop more than that. Untill the finish I just tried to keep my rythm and had drinks as often as possible. I crossed finishing line in time 2.23.19 and second half slowed almost by 4min so not very optimal race.
Now analyzing the race there could be few things to look at:
If race is at 9.00 wake up at 5.00 (I woke up 5.45) + have some tea or coffee
Do a proper warm up (I did just easy with some sprints)
Keep you shoulders relaxed (avoid computerwork before race)
Train hard and win easy!

Jos jotain kommentoisin maraan niin sykemittaria en pitäisi kisassa (turhaa ressiä ja vaivaa), edellispäivänä messut ym. turistihommat väliin, verryttelyllä väsyttää vaan itsensä (1-2km riittää hyvin maralle), samoin kisan alusviikko mahd. kevyesti kaikin puolin. Joskus mara ehkä vaatii vähän enempi erikoistumista (ja sen mukaista harjoittelua pidemmän aikaa). Kahden kuukauden valmistautuminen on aika lyhyt vaikka olitkin hyvässä ratakunnossa aloittaessa maratonreenit t. trainic
VastaaPoistaJoo olen myös itse todennut, että maraton vaatii omanlaista treeniä. Ei tarvi olla niinkään kovassa vitosen tai kympin kunnossa. Sen kyllä huomasi, että maantietä pitäisi enemmän juosta jo harjoituksissa. Mun oma tietämys kyllä loppuu tähän treeni tietoudessa, eli pitää opiskella lisää ennen seuraavaa maraa. Luulin, että neljä vuotta 2.26 marasta olisi tehnyt tehtävänsä kestopuolella. Nyt tuhlasin energiaa liikaa alkumatkasta.
